What are MailWall Users?

Each domain name will have one or more users associated with it.

Users serve a list of purposes within MailWall

  • To manage domains via the MailWall dashboard
  • To manage personal email preferences such as Spam filter settings
  • To access mailboxes when hosted mailboxes are being used
  • To have access to Users Spam Quarantine and Quarantine Email Reports
  • To archive email on a per User basis
  • To allow for per User Message Tracking
  • To have per User Whitelist & Blacklist


By default, each domain name will have one administrative user created for it.

Users within MailWall following a specific naming convention. For example, users for the domain mailwall.com may be called mailwallcom01, mailwallcom02 and so forth. This naming convention is fixed and can not be changed. The purpose of this naming convention is to avoid duplication errors with local Active Directory naming conventions when using MailWall Directory Services.

MailWall features may be accessed on a per-domain or per-user basis depending on the type of function being accessed.
